Hoping to be posting baby news soon.  Contractions started last night and have been sporadic since then.  I'm mentally prepared for this to go on for a few days but it sure would be great to deliver sooner.  Grandma Jacobson is here and we are all set for her.  I had planned to go for a walk to get things going today but the windchill is giving us temps below zero.  Brr!  That combined with the fact that I'm still recovering from a cold has me stuck inside.  Brian thinks tomorrow would be a good day.  That way we'd be home in time to catch the game on Sunday.  We'll see what this little one has in mind!  Look for updates soon!

It seems that a common question among people asking us if we are ready for baby is, "Do you have the nursery ready?"  Ummm... nursery?  Well, we are ready for her but she has no nursery.  Grandma gave us soft new flannel sheets for our bed to keep her cozy and her cousin Anna lent her a cozy hanging basinet for her naps.  She has a dresser for her clothes with a changing pad on top.  What more could a girl ask for?!  I think she'll be happy with her "nursery"!

Brian wanted to hang this banner on the front of the house!  Umm, I think it's just fine in the garage.

Brian's team is going to the Superbowl!  He's hoping baby cooperates and doesn't decide to arrive that day.  We'll see what she has in mind!

Wow, two weeks until our due date.  I don't think I can get any bigger!  She's feeling quite snug in there.  She really responds to loud noises with lots of kicking and squirming.  Daddy's football game watching and the fight scenes from Lord of the Rings seem to get a lot of activity out of her.  That and when Mom eats chocolate!  She'll be here soon!

Last Day!

Yesterday was my last day of work at the Refuge!  Baby is officially cleared to come now, although we want her to wait until Grandma arrives on the 28th.  I was a little sad to leave my job but my promotion to being a stay at home mom is worth it!  We had a nice send-off lunch at the Powerhouse with most of the Refuge employees.  A new chapter is beginning!

3 weeks 'till our due date!

We are starting to get really excited with the pending arrival of our little one.  We've installed the car seat and started to pack bags for the hospital.  As of right now the house is clean...let's hope we can keep it that way.  I'm trying not to get too focused on the date, knowing that this little one could decide to come earlier or later.  It does feel like we are getting closer though! Brian is wondering if she'll arrive on Superbowl Sunday and if he'll be able to watch at the hospital...not so much!  Even if his Steelers make it to Superbowl!
