Our 7 month old!

just ignore that Papa put her hat on backwards!
Our little girl is 7 months old! She has been so busy lately. I almost don't know where to begin with the Fiona news! Let's see if I can break it down for you.
Day Care: One of the biggest changes is beginning the day care. She loves having the kids around and they love her. We have 3 friends that come through out the week. The kids love to bring her toys and books. Our 4 year old friend even signs to her as they are playing! "Do you want more (signs more) peek-a-boo?" I love that!
Sleep: This has been our biggest challenge lately. She really has not been napping well lately even though she is soo tired. I don't know if it is because of the kids or her newly emerging skills, but this girl is having a hard time settling down! Its hard to know what's going on because even after the kids have left or they are sleeping she seems to fight her naps. I hope that this phase passes! I can say that even though she is a night owl, often not going to bed till 10pm, she sleeps great at night and loves to sleep in. Most mornings she is not up before 8:30 and will sleep later if I can stay in bed to nurse her on the weekends. There is nothing better then snuggling in bed with my girl on a Saturday morning! (especially when we know Papa made coffee!)
Moving: Fiona so desperately wants to move. I think this is part of our sleep issue. She practices ALL THE TIME. She is obsessed with getting on her hands and knees and trying to crawl. She goes backwards a bit and in circles but can't really make any forward motion. This frustrates her so much! She pushes herself into downward dog with her forehead buried into the ground. She likes to roll away from me when I'm trying to nurse her to sleep and get on her hands and knees. She just looks at me and laughs and sniffs her nose at me in excitement. Maybe when she gets this crawling thing down we can go back to good naps!
Talking: Fiona loves to talk! She babbles all day long. I love to hear her happy chatter. She wants everyone to pay attention to her and talk with her. And just like baby Kieran used to do, she fake coughs to get peoples attention so she can talk to them. It's so cute! The most exciting thing is that she has started saying Mama! Of course I LOVE this! Sometimes it about breaks my heart when she's upset and wails "Mamama". She definitely understands more and more of what we are saying too. She gets the biggest smiles and giggles when I hear Brian pull into the driveway and tell her "Papa's home!"
Overall, Fiona is a happy girl. She loves walks in her jog stroller or in the baby carrier. Just like Mama and Papa she seems happiest outside. She is now sporting 4 teeth. The top ones took their sweet timing coming in and gave her a much harder time then the bottoms. We are all glad that we are having a break in teething for now. Her favorite foods seem to be sweet potato fries and broccoli. Avocado is still a no go (leaves more for Mama!) She is a big fan of the dogs (and they her now that she's started eating!) I can see that she and Maia are going to be fast friends over the years. Willie is still wondering what happened to the sweet life she had before Maia came around! Our family couldn't be happier!
